ARTFUL RENDITIONS – COMMISSIONS
I have had some request for commissions which is a huge complement and I really appreciate these request. They tell me that people like my work and style. The anxiety comes in when I am put to the test of trying to do a portrait that captures what they see rather than what I see. You just never know if the work is going to turn out the way you expect it to. This is a creative process and my portraits tend to be more “expressive” and more of an artist rendition rather than an exact copy of a photograph.
” A work of art”
So in response I have come up with a rather unusual way to approach this because I want everyone to be happy and especially me! I can’t paint if I am stressed out over whether or not the client is going to like the finished portrait.
Here is how these will work.
You request that I consider painting your person by submitting to me several photos of your person. The best you can provide! You also give me a bit of information on what type of portrait you would like and your expectations on a time of delivery.
I take a look and see if the photos show me someone I would feel comfortable painting. Do I see promise or something that moves me to know that I can produce a work of art, a nice rendition of your person.
Upon agreeing to paint for you I will require a non-refundable $100 supply payment. Once the painting is finished you will be shown a photo of the finished portrait and given the chance to request any changes you think would make you love the portrait. I will only attempt to make these changes once.
Pricing is as follows:
11 x 14 on hardboard: = $400
12 x 16 on hardboard: = $500
16 x 20 on hardboard: = $750
add $50 for each additional person or pet in the portrait.
Once the portrait is finished you will have to option to purchase it at the above prices less any deposits or supply payments.
Should you decide not to purchase the painting simply send an email to me stating you do not want the painting and I will then use it only as an example of my work in my portfolio and as a sample of my work at any art shows I may enter but will not have permission to sell the painting.
Use the form below to send me a couple of photos of your subject or person and request that we discuss the portrait. Submitting this form in no way guarantees that I will accept your request to paint a portrait. It is simply a request for information.
Thank You for contacting me.
